Ok, let's get one thing straight....Intersectus is NOT a dating website or a 'social' connection website. We bring people, namely uni students, who want a service (such as carpooling, accommodation or secondhand books) together with people, other uni students, who can provide that service. You can also do this via other medium. eg: Looking through the rental pages of the newspaper, asking everyone you meet at the cafeteria where they live and if they have a car, looking up Amazon.com for books.
You do not have to choose the lift, accommodation or books on offer. Use your common sense...if something looks dodgy..don't do it or don't pay for it. Intersectus is not some kind of 'virtual' Target, you can't return something if you don't like it.
I can't go through the database (because, it is illegal) and shift out all the perves, crooks, murderers, cheats and arseholes out there. Though, if you have a valid complaint, I can take further action; contact the creep myself and give him/her a mouthful. ..and remove them from the database forever.
Use some discretion and intelligence and do not, for example, get into a car with someone who is a)creepy and b)has a pick axe lying in his lap. If the person selling a book has no idea what course you're doing then alarm bells should be ringing as to where they got said book. ie: they may not be legit. If the person offering accommodation cannot tell you what the average monthly electricity bill is, then maybe it's because he doesn't pay it and good-bye, do not bunk in with that idiot.
Please do not blame me for getting jipped via this website. Try to be as cautious as you would when using other medium.
Intersectus is not responsible for the action of others.
Good luck with your searches.
