What is this site about?

Intersecting students who drive to Uni/TAFE with other students who would like a lift and are prepared to pay a small fare to the driver to offset the costs of petrol and parking. We also service office workers looking to car pool to/from work!

I have a car, how do I offer a ride?

You need to register as a member first (registration is free) and then click on the ‘Offer A Lift’ icon on the home page. You will be prompted to enter the details of the ride you are offering which will then be posted on this site for the number of weeks that you nominate.

Am I obliged to offer the ride to the first person that contacts me?

No, you need to be happy and comfortable with the person you are going to travel with in your car. You are under no obligation to accept the first person that wants to take up your offer, but you should be reassured that only registered members of 'Bum A Lift' are contacting you with a genuine need for a lift.

I need a ride, how do I find one on this site?

They are two ways: (a) search online using the ‘Bum A Lift’ option or (b) record your lift preferences under ‘Lift Alerts’ and we will e-mail you as soon as a matching lift becomes available.
